I have been on Instagram for as long as I can remember.

More than sharing what I was doing in my daily life, I used it as a platform to boast and show off my life. Soon, I established myself as a popular, happening kid. Fast forward to 5 years later. I am no longer on social media.

Looking to my younger brother, who now uses the platform, let me realise the difficulties that the parallel confronts. To name a few issues, users often feel the need to keep up with others, hide their vulnerability, or change their entire personality in order to "fit in." As a response, DROWN was produced, a work representing users striving to reach out from what is genuinely weighing them down.
